Who we are
We are photographers with years behind the camera, and we eat out around Chiswick a lot. Every review comes with our own photographs: the food, of course, and where people are happy to sit for us, portraits of the chefs and the people who bring the ideas together. It is the part we enjoy most, and it is what our readers come back for.
How invited reviews work
Most of what we review, we find and pay for ourselves. Some reviews are invited: a restaurant asks us in, and may pay a fee or cover the meal. Those are always labelled Ad or Gifted at the top, as UK rules require.
Paid or not, we write what we actually think. A fee pays for our time and photography, never for a good review, and you do not see the review before it goes up. If a paid visit does not go well, we tell you first and you choose: pay for private feedback and no review, or no fee and an independent review. We may update reviews over time.
